Terms of Use
Last updated: June 29, 2026
These terms govern your use of the GMapFood browser extension and its backend service ("GMapFood"), operated by the GMapFood team. By installing or using GMapFood, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use it.
What GMapFood does
GMapFood re-sorts the photos a restaurant already shows on Google Maps so the most recent (and higher-quality) photos appear first, and lets you filter by dish. It runs in your browser on Google Maps pages and is an independent tool, not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Google.
Acceptable use and relationship to Google
- GMapFood only re-orders and annotates photo metadata that Google already exposes to your browser. It works with derived metadata only — it never downloads, copies, or stores the image bytes of Google photos.
- Your use of Google Maps remains subject to Google's own terms of service. You are responsible for complying with them.
- Do not use GMapFood to violate any law or any third party's rights, or to attempt to overload, scrape at scale, or disrupt any service.
Data contribution
By default, GMapFood contributes anonymous, derived photo metadata to improve date-sorted results, as described in our Privacy Policy. You can disable this at any time in the extension's settings.
No warranty
GMapFood is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Dates, scores, and ordering are derived from data Google provides and may be incomplete or inaccurate. We do not guarantee that the extension will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with future changes to Google Maps.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the GMapFood team will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, GMapFood.
Changes and termination
We may update GMapFood or these terms at any time; material changes will be reflected here with a new “Last updated” date. You may stop using GMapFood at any time by uninstalling the extension.
